He was winning the fight, had Marquez hurt got careless and just got copped. On the other hand Marquez had looked dangerous with that right hand earlier. That's the fight game! If they fight again it will still be a pick em.

I expected both men to have slowed down (which favors Marquez), and for Marquez to put on a repeat of their last performance -- outboxing Pacquiao. I thought Marquez was an odds-on favorite to win, just like he won the last match.
But Marquez had other plans. He built a body that was slower than Pacquiao. This would be no repeat of their third fight. He gambled on his ability to use his added power to find a knockout shot, and he did, because he is mentally of the absolute highest tier in boxing. Steel will, grit, focus, the composure and poise to see through to victory. If Pacquiao is smart, he will retire. He will not beat Marquez ever again. |

Also, Marquez deserved to walk away from this series with a win. As far as I'm concerned, he always had the upper hand in the series, but it's splitting hairs either way, they're as equal vs eachother as any pair in boxing.

Well it marks the end for Pacquiao and it gives Marquez closure on a very controversial three previous fights. He may have been robbed before - but he's ended the series with a bang.
I think it was an incredible punch; beautifully timed. Marquez saw Pacquiao charging in and the current Pacquiao just doesn't have the speed and aggression he used to - which allowed him to charge in a bit wild. He was sloppy, he was a tad slower, and Marquez caught him dead. Apart from that I do feel pretty bad for Pacquiao. Not a huge fan but seeing ANY legend ending their career like that is always sad - and always happens too often. I hope he retires and does what he does in the Phillipines. Kudos to Marquez - always been a massive fan. |

most people considered JMM the superior h2h fighter anyways based on the last 3 fights. I expected JMM to win but not by stoppage and never by one punch ko!
Marquez last night cemented his position as the greatest mexican in history in my books. great fight by a great fighter. he should probably fight bradley next that would be a good fight. |

Gee, it doesn't take 'em long to make these things does it!! Pac looked to be trying a tad to hard (if that makes sense- what I mean is not fighting within himself), he was reaching, lunching and looking disorganised despite winning the 4th (or was it the 5th big). When you do that, you can walk into a big shot... ps. Did the kayo itself look to anyone else like Pac was baulking an attack- feinting with his body but got caught out of position himself. I recognise the feeling from my own younger days, trying to set traps and often being the one nailed. Mabye I'm just importing my own lack of abilities into what happened, but Pac seemed to try to attack, pause to disrupt the potential counter and when he went to attack he was seriosuly out of position (and I think he knew it before the lights went out too!) and exposed to Marquez's monster right hand?

1 of the greatest wins in boxing history and the manner of it spectacular
He was actually displaying his best boxing of the series, his best head movement and defence. Marquez changed the dynamic Oh and Marquez is the 39yo closing in on 40 People on the classic will generally minimise but Marquez is making a good case for this. Not just in the Pacquaio fights but his 3 weight dominance from 126-135 |

What a night. Especially if you consider everything leading up to it. It feels like the last three fights were just a build-up to that one punch. This is why I love boxing. FOTY and KOTY.

Floyd wouldnt get caught by a looping shot like that. I cant wait to see what happens to his 100 deep entourage now. Manny is going to be that typical cliche in boxing. Broke!

I'm gutted, in shock, massive pac fan but also feel the same for JMM, I'm real happy for juan, he is eveything that is solid about the sport & a great man to boot. But i'm just so gutted that manny just got caught like this, he looked on the verge of victory, but in saying that i did'nt want to see juan KO'd. What makes this such a cunt day is that Mayweather has got his wish & is already counting out the future no-risk MEGA $$$.
