BJ Penn used to be famous for having world class stand-up an BBJ when no one eslse had. He simply hasn't evolved, now fighters have world class bjj, muay thai, wrestling etc etc etc. Would McDonald beat him now.... well yes. But back in the day BJ Penn layeth the smaketh down.

MacDonald is a larger man with too many skills for any version of BJ.
Yep.

you aren't giving Macdonald his credit. He is far bigger and stronger than BJ and BJ wasn't going to keep him down. BJ wasn't gonna KO em and yet he stuck with the stand up, why? because he had less of a chance of stealing rounds on the ground you ****ing moron.

You must be high on crack if you think that McDonald is better than Bj Penn at BJJ. If both were the same size Bj would crush McDonald. Congratulations for making yourself look even more stupid.

see what I mean? even you know he didn't have the strength to keep em down. Did you see the size difference? BJ was getting punked in there. Mac was toying with em most of the time.

hughes was a always a one dimensional fighter with no stand up and gsp has evolved since then while BJ has not. Face it, BJ never had the stand up game to beat the current Mac. He only uses his hands and he never had the skills, power or speed to make up for that vs Mac who uses all his weapons and has a reach advantage. Btw, he broke BJ's ribs.

Penn has been beaten BADLY by GSP, Edgar twice, Diaz, Macdonald and was lucky to escape the third round with Fitch. Bring up Hughes all that you want, that doesn't make Penn look any less dominated. You can keep bringing up Hughes too, because he makes my point as well: He kicked all kinds of ass before guys with more skills and ability showed up and started dominating him, just like they did Penn. It's not size, it's not him being suddenly "shot", it's him not having the skills to hang with top mma fighters today. Get off his jock and move the **** on.
