Default How does May become GOAT?

I know some of you have him there already, but I mean in general consensus. Would he have to beat Rocky Marciano's record then retire? Or would he have to beat Martinez? Would a win over Pacquiao 2 years ago been enough?

I'm sure most people, although myself not included, have Muhammad Ali as the number 1. What would Mayweather have to do to dethrone him?

He already pissed that away.
There is no chance in that ever happening now.
(Never was actually)

Mayweather can't do anything to become G.O.A.T. at this point.

Mayweathers missed the boat He had the natural God Given talents to be considered an ATG but sadly he lacked the heart and cojones of a real champion. He ducked to many dangerous fighters only fights in vegas where he knows he'll get looked after. He could more than likely have beaten the guys he ducked & any way had he lost a fight he'd be still regarded higher than as a cherry pickin champ.
The two greatest of all time Muhammad Ali & Sugar Ray Robinson both lost fights. Floyd will never be ranked among the elite

I still think he's going to be up there, but yeah I'll pretty much always see him as someone who might have had more skill in the ring than anyone else, but he picked fights that would highlight it best. If May didn't have such a golden path into the boxing ring, he might have had some more wear and tear and would have took on all challengers. One bad decision in his early career and we'd have seen a whole different fighter. I kind of always got the feeling that he was afraid of his own record you know. (Yes, I have a Pacquiao avatar and I'm speaking down on Mayweather. That doesnt mean you have to say KO6 or whatever your blood boiling selfs are compelled to do).

If Mayweather had beat Pacquiao (in a close fight, not a shut out because everyone needs to show perseverance), Canelo, Martinez and Ward by now, would he have topped the scales yet? If Mayweather had the attitude of Carl Froch we'd have the greatest ever.

He's not even the undisputed best of his generation, let alone all time.

In the era of the Fan Four in the 80's, Floyd would've been the odd man out.
