Default the wide right to the body

Hi all. I want to make a little highlight video for studying purposes on the wide right to the body (or right hook to the body). It seems to be a lost punch and was wondering if you knew of any fighters that were great at doing it? Particularly from longe/mid range.

So far I have charley burley and Roy jones.

Thanks

Tony Tubbs, Tim Whiterspoon, Siarhei Liahkovich (sorry for the spelling) are all heavyweight adepts of that punch, and the first that came to my mind.

It's a punch I personnaly love, but it's a dangerous punch to throw as it is easily countered by a left hook.

Cheers.

Maybe not on the skill level that you are looking at so far, but I think Ray Mancini had a nice wide right dig to the body, due to reach and his lunging style it is probably more mid to close range than long range....He uses it some here against chacon:

he also uses it some good effect early on against Camacho....but his corner picked up on the fact that later in the fight Camacho was timing it when he tried it from outside, and they told him to hold off on it untill he had him trapped (somewhere in rounds 9-11)....Perhaps speed and straights are the reason it is not as higly favored as you mention????

Although Joe Frazier is called a one armed fighter (People who don't watch but just regurgitate the common mantera), he uses his right hook (although from close range) wide and to the body as quite an effective set up move, for his more lethal left hook (he also uses his jab better than given credit for)..

Quarry uses a couple of his own here as well...

Early in his career Tyson used a nice right hook to the body frequently...

Botha liked anything that was awkward and contrary to the textbook.
