Veiw on Larry Merchent

I noticed alot of dispespect toawrd Lampley in another thread, which is why I made this one. I happen to love Lampleys work but find Merchant to be a racially bias cometator. Merchant, to me comes across as rasist aganist almost all black espcially the cocky ones (not just May) even though we all know he hates him. What do you guys think? What are your thoughts on Larry Merchent? Any vidoes and examples of merchents rasist/ bias behavior are welcome.

Merchant has a preference for fighters, but always tells it like it is, as much as he gives mayweather stick, he's never done anything but give him his due

Even after mayweathers tirade against him after Ortiz after the fight he was complementary about him

Merchant also has masterful comedic timing and aswell as his voice having a degree of authority, he is also good for a laugh, he's also not afraid to ask uncomfortable questions

Lampley on the other hand is just horrible. Overly biased, calls shots that don't land (regularly)....while the others on the team all add something or another, Lampley is the main line tower

I remember during MAB vs naz, he started saying something along the lines of "Does Allah know how to spell BARRERA?"

The guys a disgrace

Also Merchsnt seems to love Broner, was again, very complimentary about him after the Demarco fight

Best way to describe Merchant is to quote an ESBer(I csnt remember who)

"merchant will show up drunk and still call the biggest fights, and there's not a goddamn thing you can do about it"

Man, I dissagree completly go back and watch all of Floyds fights. He alwasy finds a way to discredit his big wins and make really bring to light his probles outside of the ring. Merchent=shit. I love when Lampley and RJJ put him in his place

Larry a G. He speaks his mind, and for the most part he truly understands boxing. I don't care what his personal views are, I like the guy.

In 30 years, the only boxing commentators anyone will remember & talk about will be Howard Cosell, Bert Sugar, and Larry Merchant.

Love 'im or hate 'im, he's an integral part of the sport, and has made it a better one.

He definitely needs to retire soon, though, before he makes a complete fool of himself.

He doesnt tear into every black fighter, I'm pretty sure you can find fights from guys like Mosley and Hopkins and probably Jones and Toney where he has the utmost appreciation

maybe im wrong but im sure back in the 80's he probably loved Hagler and Hearns, probably liked Holyfield I'd bet

I don't think anyone can be racist who loves the sports of boxing for as long as Larry has. More than half its history is non caucasian fighters. That's a serious accusation. He's just old school and doesn't like the antics. I like Floyd but yeah the BS gets old too. Same with RJJ. Same with Pacquiao holding up the last fight for supposedly a Boston Celtics game. Boxing has a few divas in its elite ranks.

Larry was the only honest one in the Pac v JMM fight. He was noticing the good work JMM was doing, setting up Pacquiao.

Merchant always makes several "WTF is he talking about" comments during the course of a fight.

He's either senile, drunk, or a combination of both.
