Nice rankings, good to see collaborative fan led rankings over the GBP newsletter aka Ring rankings.

I take it the rankings on first page are updated as and when rather than being updated throughout the thread?

If so, what's the rationale at 154lbs? No Zaurbek Baysangurov? Dude's the WBO champion and if Ishe Smith is on there for having done not much prior to beating Bundrage then surely Baysangurov should be top 10 also?

Wins over the undefeated Soro and tough win over Konecny in the past 12 months with a stake on the titles to boot.

Thanks for the support, Billy.

Ishe defeated a contender -that's a pretty sure shortcut to break into the top ten. It always has been... when rankings make sense.

The Board functions as if the so-called sanctioning bodies and their belts do not exist. A cursory look at their rankings and long history of corruption and idiocy is enought to accept why this is so.

Baysangurov was discussed back when we were banging out the inaugural rankings in October, but members agreed that others were more deserving.

Again, the fact that he has a belt for beating Lukas Konecny who magically became a champion for beating Salim Larbi who magically became a champion for beating a novice on his way to becoming cannon fodder means nothing at all.

Following the lineages of the WBS organizations reveals not so much Machiavellian machinations as cockeyed nonsense.

Thanks for the response, that clears it up for me.

Especially that part.

Keep up the good work fellas, I now have a place to come for a more rational view of the top 10 landscape in each division.

I'd say konecny was at worst fringe level and I personally thought he beat bausangurov. But at that level loads of guys are on an equal footing.

I have stopped buying the ring now as I'm covinced these rankings are better. The last issue I bout was the year end one and it said something like "this man has the final say on all rankings" it ain't even panel voted any more. Might as well be a schedule of potential golden boy opponents.

Thank you! And don't hesitate to throw shots whenever you think a ranking is punchy. We're doing the best we can, but we're bound to overlook a few things and are prone like the rest of the human race to err. We could use your eyes.

--And more than a few board members are monitoring this thread for feedback.

It never really was panel-voted. The panel functioned in an "advisory" capacity. In my experience, that term often means "honorary" -as in no real power/influence.

Thanks luf.

Yeah, that was a nice thing to see. Hopefully we can start to generate a little interest on this side of the pond, too.

I always thought Bunce looked upon ratings as trivial and practically irrelevant...which would fit in with his "boxing is a business" mantra.

Bunce may shout them out on his podcast, but I doubt you'll find any love getting a shout out from him on Boxnation.

They've recently started releasing their own rankings, working their way down from heavyweight. So far there is no navigable direct link to the rankings on their site but they're up there, announced in the news section as they go along.

Remaining divisions will be announced on Twitter when ready.

Perhaps if they prove to be lax in updating their rankings as time goes on they could look to TBR to provide them. May be worth reaching out to them?

As rankings go, i've seen worse, not great but not terrible:

Should do a p4p top 20-25, McGrain, because otherwise, some of the picks in the top 10 will look a bit too thin/ too categorical and it will allow for easy promotion/demotion out of the top 10.
