Default Munroe Retired

Good pro sad to see him go but if the desire isn't there then right decision in my opinion. At one point he was a monstrous pressure fighter but his peak only seemed to last a year or so the move to hatton didn't help either.

Good decision on his part especially seen as he has said he just isn't there any more.

Shame, Munroe was a good character and a likeable bloke.

I think after his fight out in Japan his career stagnated, he hardly ever fought and his next big fight was until the Quigg bout. I think in the in-between period his skills began to diminish. A prime Munroe wouldn't have been TKO'd in the 6th by Quigg, no way.

Could have been world champion IMO, sadly it just never worked out. Good luck to him in whatever he does now.

Great decision IMO, he made a fair bit of money in all them European title defences, Rendall had a very good career.

Good decision. Would have been sad to see him turn into cannon fodder for the younger guys. Should never have left Maloney.

Good call. With Galahad, Frampton etc around, I don't want to see him become Jason Booth.

Good luck to him seems the sensible option. He had a good career but I think he could have done more with it, after losing in Japan for the world title he just never got back to the same level. Disastrous move to Hatton, plus I think not that many people really wanted to fight him as he presented a big risk for little reward in terms of a scalp.

Big fan of Munroe. Sad to see him go out like that. Thanks for all the fights you've given us Rendall.

Loved watching Munroe. The shock night when he beat the highly rated banger Martinez, the rematch victory, the battering of Terrazas, the afternoon (British time) challenge to Nishioka. All fondly remembered.

I have a high-vis vest I use for running when dark outside, not ashamed to say I wore it for Rendall's fights. He had a very good career. Under-rated on British shores.

Good fighter, think he did well in his career...

Could've won an alphabet title if his career had panned out differently, worse fighters certianly have managed it...but at the same time he could have achieved much less...overall a good career.

A shame about how it went after his world title shot, he was on a great run and fought the genuine world champ at the weight, but then just didn't get the fights after that...

If only he'd fought Molitor the night Booth did...

In Terms of getting bigger fights It didn't help coming from Leicester as we just don't have any venues for boxing if Leicester had an equivalent to the capital arena over in nottingham Maloney might have been able to tempt one of the alphabet boys over for a payday.

I loved the way (no homo) he came into the ring with his luminous binman's jacket on. His fans were cool too, decked out in their luminous jackets. He wasn't ashamed of his day job. A lesser man might have tried to hide the fact he was a binman. Had some good wins and showed great courage in his World title fight against Nishioka.

He had a good career. Won a few belts and challenged for a world title. He did well in the world title fight but nothing seemed to go right after that. Shame to see him go but it probably is best if the desire has gone. Good luck to the bloke.
