He had a solid reign as Title holder, longer than most title holders, mostly contenders, and mandatories, never a super fight but should be enough I think, even if he wasn't known as a household name outside of Asia..What say you??

You can make a good argument based on his longevity, and he did beat a fair few titlists during a decade long stretch at the top. Aside from the obvious obstacle to getting inducted (sub 118 Asian fighter), the lack of a career defining win and the inconclusive nature of his series with Naito work against him.

Pongsaklek was a very solid fighter, but there are others who deserve HOF nods before him. Curry, Starling, Archer, Zapata, etc. just to name a few. He'll probably get in though one day.
Frankly, I don't argue anybody's HOF status. If you put in the work, have a damn good career/give the fans amazing battles as in Gatti's case, you deserve the reward. I just wish more than a few guys could make it every year. Too many deserving greats are left out. |

Absogatdamnlutely. No hesitance whatsoever. Yes, like JMP said, others may deserve it first, but there's no way in which he should not go in. None. It would be criminal. I consider it a no-brainer.
