Easy easy victory vs Kessler by stoppage
Coasted to victory vs Froch Bika dominated easier than calzaghe did Chad Dawson absolutely dominated Abraham beaten with ease And ward has only had 26 fights. calzaghes 26th fight was a disputed win vs robin reid. Ward already has a better record than joe |

Calzaghe has the better record at the moment but if Ward keeps beating the level of guys he has been then he'll obviously surpass him. He's still pretty young and could well improve.

Ward won a World title by dominating the champion in his 21st fight and unified two belts in his 25th. At the same stage in Calzaghe's career he had won the vacant lowlely regarded WBO title by beating a past it, unprepared Eubank and was struggling against Robin Reid. Plus people say Ward is boring, yet seem to forget Calzaghe's terrible snooze fests against Thornberry and Starie. The only thing Calzaghe has over Ward as a SMW champion is longevity, but his long run of defences against various nobodies only impresses the simple minded, Artur Grigorian had a similar WBO run to Calzaghe yet you don't see people wanted to tongue his arse over it.

Until he fights abroad he`ll not get the respect he feels he deserves, he had 2 world champs fight him at home all down to his dictating. When have you seen this happen before... pretty convenient hey. He owes Kessler and froch rematches away due to his out of the ring gamesmanship. Technically Calzaghe is above Ward he`d have ward knackered b y rd 8 |

Calzaghe beat Kessler without having to head-butt **** out of him.
Calzaghe out-classed a younger Bika. Calzaghe unified all the belts and never backed down from a challenge. Calzaghe stepped up to LW and beat Hopkins and Jones Jr. Right now he's ahead of Ward, no doubt. Ward can surpass him but he hasn't yet. Don't jump the gun. |

It's not far off Joe's record, I imagine that he will surpass Joe though.
Would be interesting (if not dull!) to think who would of won the fight, as much as I don't really like Ward I'd back him on points. |

![]() I guess Calzaghe should have rematched Kessler in Denmark, Lacy in the States etc. Going into the Super Six Ward was a green, inexperienced kid who people were looking past, everyone thought Kessler was going to walk straight through him, Kessler himself and his team also thought this which is why despite Kessler being the champion, they weren't bothered about travelling for the fight. Ward was seriously underrated and his team used this to their advantage by getting him home fights, which no one was complaining about at the time. I guess it's not fair that Ward turned out to miles better than anyon expected Oh and by the way Ward is superior boxer to Calzaghe, that should be obvious to anyone. |
