Any Pacquiao fight against a decent opponent is PPV worthy. He's still a massive star and people will tune in even more so now that he's been knocked out, because they wanna' see how he'll bounce back. Pac-Rios would be an excellent fight for him to come back to, because it'll be a respectful win for him to retire from.

Look for Arum and Roach to go back to the easy-2-hit, stationary oponents. They will stay away from anyone that has Boxing skill, ability and athleticism. My guess...Rios and/or Maidana. Someone this will come strraight forward into Pacquiao's power.

Anyone who thinks Rios is tune up material or a good opponent for April should reconsider. Rios is hungry and at the top of his game unlike the Marg who fought Pac. Keep in mind Marg hurt Pac with a body shot that almost sent Pac to the canvas which could've led to a stoppage. Pac's inside game is non existent whereas Rios excels. Rios punches harder and has a better defense than Marg. Also keep in mind despite whipping Cotto, Pac took a hell of a beating himself. He basically takes a beating to dish out a bigger beating. I'm not so sure, at this stage of his career, that Pac can do that to Rios.
Nice fight if it happens in Sept. If it's April I'll still watch but wtf are they thinking putting Pac in the ring with a beast so soon? And btw, yes, it's PPV material. Will be non stop action for however long it lasts. |

yes this is PPV worthy. Absolutely. I still think Manny wins, but in light of his knockout loss this would be a tough fight to pick the winner. Manny needs a tuneup or two to get back his confidence.
