For me it has to be McClellan, Ben was supposed to get murderd, nobody thought he would win what an incredable fight, i also think he beat the count in the 1st, shame how it ended though.

Im a long time Benn fan but this one's easy. Not only his best performance but one of the best by a British fighter in my lifetime. Fuck that, the best. Tragic mainly because of the obvious what happened to Mclellan but also because it's not recognised as a great, great fight and victory because alot of people cant stomach what happened, and i dont blame them.
Benn v Mclellan if not my favourite fight ever is the one that sticks in my mind the most.I can remember it as if it was yesterday. It had literally everything. God bless both of the hard bastards. |

Same. I think Benn was fully justified in his remark after the fight that 'better him than me'. Benn had been set up as a faded name for McClellan to look good in blitzing. Tragic outcome, obviously, but the whole event is like something Hollywood writers can only wish they could think up.

Dont agree that he was justified in saying that and i reckon he regrets saying it but suppose shit happens especially with men like them. It'd make a pretty macabre Hollywood film. Dog fighting, drug taking, army, suicide attempts, rags to riches, brain damage, world title fights, blindness and god. That would be some fucking film actually. |

I suppose you could argue Steve Collins was a force to be reckoned with when he beat Benn twice. Benn wasn't the same after G-Man in the same way Eubank couldn't pull the trigger after Michael Watson.

What a fight. I reckon the result wouldve been the same but wouldve been amazing if it would have carried on. KO2 Benn. That was a big win over here, the papers tipped Barkley and Benn just went in and fucked him up. |

Well many felt he should of got the win that night, but if we go into that in depth we'll be off on an almighty tangent.
The McClellan win is undoubtedly the best of his career and the best night of his career (well until the tragedy started to unfold), but I think Eubank II may very well be the best performance. The Barkley win was tremendously impressive, but he was so reckless that night he's lucky somewhat to have not been taken out himself. |

Nah , the Mclellan fight and performance was on another planet. He boxed very well in the second Eubank fight but it doesnt compare. |
