Default Most shafted fighters in history.

Which fighters were the most frequently on the wrong end of bad decisions, contracted to fight under unreasonable conditions, victims of biased referreing.

Who are the elite of the shafted?

Not the worst case but I thinks its a crying shame that in 50 years Ike Quarteys resume will show him 0-4 vs the 4 great fighters he fought.

Floyd Patterson.

Maxim, both Quarry fights, and the Ellis fight should have gone his way.

Jimmy Young deserves a mention. In my opinion, he should've been given the verdict against Ali, making him linear heavyweight champion (a pretty good one at that) and freeing us from the borefest that were Ali championship fights around that time, as well as Leon Spinks.

I've read that the draw in his second fight with Shavers was a bad verdict as well though i haven't seen that one.

And then there was the close fight with Norton although i don't believe that one was a "robbery", just another close verdict that did not go his way. Mentally, he was done after that.

By the way, does anyone know if he had a nickname ?

Ken Norton because he should have been 2-1 against Ali. Even the one he 'lost' is subject to scrutiny. Norton was not flamboyant he was just a really good fighter.

Jimmy Young is the best answer so far.

Perhaps even a winner if he was shafted out of the title.

I think though that we have to go further back to find the most shafted guys.

Perhaps the best question is who was consistently shafted from day 1 of their pro career but still atained greatness?

My vote would be for George Dixon.

His win loss ratio at world level is basicaly his knockout % give or take.
