FEnech had about 26 am fights before turning pro. had never put on a pair of gloves till he was about 16.

mundine had been sparring since he was about 8 yo. fought millions of rounds sparring pros and mates. had 4 ams overseas. got KTFO in his 10th fight for a world title.

fenech the winner. mundine the loser.

fenech an international hall of famer. mundine a national hall of shamer....

Haha - yeah i luv jeff but fenech won that title by beating who? It's his later career that proved what a real champion he was. Mundine showed some serious balls in fighting ottke after 10 fights and then getting back on the horse after the ko loss to a legitamate champ but it's his later career that have proved to be the big disappointment.

Yeah Jeff was Olympic team captain and half of his amateur fights were against international competition. He won the IBF title when it was first established and didn't carry much respect compared to the WBC and WBA. Also he didn't beat a great world champion to win his first title.
Fenech went on to become one of our greatest fighter, no argument from me on that point. However it's probably not the best comparison to match his early career with Mundine's.

Yeah but look at the guy Fenech fought to win .he had only had 10 fights himself and wasn't even considered among the best.the only real great fighter fenech fought was nelson .all his fights before that were against fighters that weren't of great talent.

Oh and he finished his stellar career with a record of 11-3-1, The defense of his title before he fought Fenech was against a fighter making his PRO DEBUT and he won that fight via a 15 round Spilt decision , lets see you try and compare that with Ottke.."
