As in, if he had fought and beaten Valuev, would he be the best name on his resume?
I know they were supposed to fight a few years ago but Lucious Sweet being Valuevs manager meant he would have been paid a pittance so it never went ahead. So? |

Valuev is one of the worst HW belt holders in history. Vitali e.g. beat Sam Peter who was heaps better than Valuev ever was, and Peter was pretty terrible.

Sanders had the buster Dougles syndrome and wasn't really a great win even though it wasn't bad and Peter was done after fighting Wladimir it was again not a bad win but not a great one either. A win over Lennox even at that stage of his career would have been huge. I think a win over Valuev depends on how he wins it would have been a good win if he had managed to ko/tko him and beat him up badly in the process

This is a ridiculous question. While I do think Valuev was sometimes underrated, he did also in the eyes of most lose to Donald, Ruiz and 46 year old Holyfield, an he actually did lose to Chagaev and Haye (though I personally thought he nicked it against Haye). There are a half dozen guys Vitali beat who were probably better, including Donald himself, Sanders, Peter, and a few others. None were indisputably better though.
