Default Tom Stalker goes pro with Matchroom

Haven't seen a thread on this, fighting on the Bellew bill in March.

He's 28.

Hearn will need to move him fast, he'll only have a short career at 140/147lbs. Stalker was unlucky at the Olympics, I dont expect great things from him as a pro but he'll be doing well if he wins a British title.

Good luck to him and good move, I havent seen much of him but think Hearn will get him the fights he needs and its a good start to be on the Bellew bill.

I think Callum Smith and Kafai will have better careers than him, his style suited the amateurs. Not sure about Ogogo though.

He's popular in Liverpool right? So he can shift tickets and make a good wedge. Can't see him going as far as world level in the pro's, but definitely has the ability for British/Euro titles.

Matchroom are building a quality Liverpudlian stable.

Well Cardle has had something like a fight every month under Hearn, same with
Yafai.

Good move by Stalker.

Think he is underrated by many, obviously it all depends how he transfers to the pro's but he is a world amateur medalist and could have very easily have been an Olympic medalist. Think a European title is around the level which he will achieve

Surprised to hear this. Heard Stalker was expected to receive a nice wage joining the Team GB coaching set-up. I guess he feels unsatisfied with his boxing career after his Olympics disappointment.

There's plenty of time to enter the coaching set up.

A lot of people put too much emphasis on age, as long as he lives the life and looks after himself, he can go on into his mid 30's.

This has been one of the worst kept secrets in Liverpool for the past couple months. I think hes a bit underrated on here, people are basing there opinion on him from the olympics which is fair enough but he unperformed there. Hes one of the best amateurs this countries ever had and he started boxing very late so although hes 28 hes still learning and I believe he can adapt to the pros and do pretty weell. I agree that cal smith and yafai will have better pro careers as I believe they'll go all the way, but ogogo isn't all that, watch out for anthony fowler when he eventually turns though pro hell be a beast.

He looked very good on his WSB debut, skilled & heavy handed.
