Just saw on Twitter where Steve Kim retweed someone who claims to have heard Keith Thurman on a radio show recently, where Thurman stated he'd be fighting Jan Zaveck next.
If true, this could be a very good fight. Presumably, this would take place on the undercard of Cloud-Hopkins, which takes place March 9th at the Barclays Center. |

Jan Zaveck is one of those guys who no one worth a damn in their rightful mind would go near, because he's so dangerous. While not "ranked" among Brook, Paulie, Alexander, Bradley, Mayweather, JMM, or Pacquiao; I'd pick him over the first three I listed for sure and he is a solid opponent for ANYONE, let alone a prospect/contender in Thurman.
Style wise, I see a great fight taking place, and while everything inside me says Zaveck, I think for some reason Thurman pulls this one off and I and others will have to give him mad credit for it. |
