Was having a think about this one today so thought id punch it out.
Gents, list your top 5 prospects in MMA currently, explain the choices, and maybe describe how far you see them going. I suppose a prospect could be seen as anybody outside of a "champion" who's still young enough to develop there skill set and has not platued or competed at the very top ?? I dont know, id like your take on that!

Cub Swanson
Gustafsson Jon Dodson Michael McDonald Myles Jury A few of these men may not count in some books as they are already getting Title Fights, but I believe that all will be at or near the top for years to come. Myles Jury is the most untested, and I believe the first three fighters listed will hold UFC Gold. Perhaps Gustafson catches JJ at the right time as he has one foot out the door, and Cub Swanson remains at FW for sometime. I don't know, but I believe so. Word on the street is Glover T v Alexander G if my man Glover beats Rampage. |

Demetrious Johnson is another Sweet Fighter, but I believe Dodson will have him running out the cage. A little trash talk in all this as the Champ could dance on him and make it look easy
A lot of answers by the end of this year, The UFC roster is huge, and Eddie Alvarez will always have a spot. I think Rory Mac is a baby shark amongst Great Whites, and will have too many grueling matches by the time he reaches his physical prime. |

With the exception of maybe Khabilov and Michael McDonald (albeit his interim title-shot may have relinquished him of his "prospect" label) none of the men mentioned are still prospects.

After careful consideration mine as follows:
1. Mamed Khalidov - Has to be top of this list IMHO 2. Hacran Diaz - Likely one of the reasons Aldo is leaving FW (Nova Uniao team mate), this man is coming for all at the weight! 3. Erick Silva - He's a monster who will only get better IMO, him and Rory should fight already! 4. Alexander Sarnavskiy - anybody reading into the Clementi loss is silly, this man will come again! 5. Eric Kelly - I see something in this kid! people may not like him but i do. |

Khalidov, of course. He has been the top MW outside of Zuffa for a long time.
Koreshkov is a good shout. Most of the young Russians in Bellator show a lot of promise, actually. Really like the looks of Conor McGregor. Jordan Mein hopefully will make a splash in the UFC this year. Michael Page is exciting as fuck. Would like to see him actually get tested. Galore Bofando is in the same boat, with a very similar style. I don't know how far either one of these guys will go, but it will be fun watching them along the way. |
