Mousasi has been one of my top five favorite fighters for a couple of years now. I'm just glad we will get to se him consistently fight top competition now.

He isn't completely lost against wrestlers. He is very active off his back, and very difficult to control. King Mo is one of the most decorated wrestlers in the sport, and Gegard had more success off of his back than he did on top. He has a guard game similar to Condit's.

Great style, but damn.. Just thinking about it and some ugly matches.. Mousasi's a no frills fearless dude, which means guys like Evans are going to just try to control and smother. Guys already know to do this with him, just a matter of how many can employ it..
Dunno what he could work to force guys to standup with him. The one thing common in a lot of guys who are hard to keep down or take down is explosiveness. Maybe he should try some strength training, American style. |

Gegard won't be in the UFC long. He's clueless on the mat and just doesn't have the temperament. Nice addition but i just don't see him making any impact at all at 205. Hope i'm wrong though as iv been a fan of his some time and got to meet him once.

You can count on one hand how many guys ever pull guard.
He isn't a ground specialist, but he can certainly hold his own and then some. I actually attribute his poor TDD to perhaps being a little too comfortable off of his back. Also, he is training with real camps now, rather than basically just fucking around with friends. His game should look tighter than ever, and hopefully some cardio issues will be resolved. |

On his feet though whomever is at the other end of the Octagon has their work cut out. And that includes Spider. |

He is constantly attacking from his back. That's why I think he ground game is comparable to Condit's. On top he is a beast when it comes to GnP. He really knows how to put power into his shots. |
