I think when Mayweather retires he will end up like Tyson and Holyfield; piss all his money away and be forced to comeback and fight when he is too old and past it to still be fighting and that is the time when he will lose that 0. I hope for his sake he can learn to manage his money better and does not become like them and piss away hundreds of millions, but if he does not, I can see the end of his career being just like theirs.

Are you with him 24/7 and have access to his accounts to know how he manages his money so that you can Intelligently say "manage his money better"?

No but even he admits that he gambles millions of dollars at a time, plus the numerous reports and photos of him just throwing money into the air, or burning it, and his old friend 50 cent even said he is terrible with money management and will be broke after he retires.

I made a poll a few years ago about whether Mayweather will be fighting at 40 or beyond and it was about 50/50.
He has verifiable settlements with the IRS and an extravagant lifestyle. As our federal government proves, it's not how much you bring in but how much you spend. Anybody can go broke. Mayweather would be far from the first boxer to do so. Personally, I think Uncle Sam coaxes him out of retirement a couple of times. |
