Floyd can beat Pernell at 147

Floyd's style is all wrong for Pea's and Chavez.

Floyd is the greatest at 130 for a reason, he could crush anyone at that weight EASILY.
Which of the fighters below was in the absolute beastly prime when Mayweather fought them?

154: Miguel Cotto - good win

147: Victor ortiz - where does he rank 147 all time or 147 at the time.

147: Shane Mosley - Rank this win according to the point in time of Shane's career.

147: JMM - against a 130 lbs fighter. Where does JMM rank ATG at 147?

147: Hatton - Where does Hatton rank ATG 147

154: ODLH - Rank this win according to the point in time of ODLH's career.

147: Baldomir- Where does Baldo rank ATG 147

147: Sharmba Mitchell - 5'0 Little big man -Where does he rank 147 ATG?

140 -Gatti, Bruseles, Corley

135: Ndou - eh

135: Castillo II - ran the entire fight

135: - Castillo I - Castillo got robbed

130: Chavez - good win

130: Corrales - good win

135: Augustus - eh

130: Juuko - eh

130: Vargas - who?

130: Manfredy - decent win

Poll doesn't indicate one either, though you're usually the only one that comes in and makes an argument for him.

Too much bias from those who lived through and watched both, or just one of the two.

Plus, one of them isn't retired yet while the other is.

It is certainly an example of quality vs. quantity to some degree.
It's possible another 20 or 30 years could stand to hurt Floyd. Chavez hasn't become great in hindsight... Look at the predictions boxing pundits and media were making prior to the Whitaker fight in 1993 when he was pretty clearly faded from 87-91 form... Several different people called him the greatest since Robinson. Duran didnt get that kind of love... they didnt even necessarily consider him better than Carlos Zarate in the late 70s.

Mayweather would win against Chavez. While Julio's record is more impressive, Floyd has wins over bigger names.

Floyd has wins over bigger names, but Julio has wins over fighter who were better AT THE TIME HE FOUGHT THEM than the ones Floyd fought.

Camacho was a little past it, Ramirez getting long (though still a very good fighter and at prime weight). Taylor, Rosario, Lockridge, Mayweather, Martinez were all prime and the fights at their prime weight... LaPorte may of even had better utilization of his skill set than when he'd fought Sal and Pedroza at 126.

Rosario totally ****ed Hector's psyche up.

Julio definetly fought a better version of LaPorte than the one Sanchez and Pedroza fought.

LaPorte was one tough hombre, who would clear out 126 and 130lbs today.

Gets more clout for his chin than anything else these days, but was one fukin durable boxer-puncher. Kinda strange Julio doesnt get mentioned as much as Arguello, Floyd and Nelson at 130. Those guys were clashing styles and almost playing round robin... He just beat all of them. Talking Roger, Juan, Mario, Rocky.

and it wasn't even Julio at his peak, man.

You are so right when you say that Julio should have stayed longer at 135lbs, where he was at his peak.

Do you really think Camacho was past it? I thought he proved in the fight he was still very good. Remember, he only had 1 loss and it was a questionable loss to Haugen, due to a point taken off. Realistically, he was undefeated when he faced Chavez.

You have a lot of boxing knowledge bro. Just showing some respect.

The biggest boxers that Floyd faced were a 39 years old Mosley
and an old declining DLH.

Compared to what he'd previously been up to when he fought Rosario, yeah. Still a real quality fighter, though I heavily disagree when people bring it up and claim it to be Chavez's best win. Hell, JCC himself was a little past it when he'd fought Whitaker and he was undefeated, still widely considered #1 P4P.
