A little defensive there buddy.

Schooled by Whitaker? Sure, that same Whitaker also schools anyone aat and around 147lbs today...including Floyd.

Taylor? Was winning sure, but schooling? Not so much of a schooling when your face is grotesquely swollen while your swallowing a shitload of your blood and end up pissing blood for several weeks after the fight, now is it?

and last but not least, i hope you realize Castillo was much more similiar to Chavez (although much more inferioir) than Floyd is to Taylor and Whitaker.

Just thought i'd throw that out.

Sorry Whitaker doesnt school Mayweather. If you believe that you don't know shit about boxing. Is favor Whotaker no way does e school Mayweather

I never said Taylor schooled Chavez, i said he was on his way to winning before a questionable stoppage

And again Floyd was injured and beat Castillo comfortably the 2nd time

Again Floyd was INJURED and beat Castillo comfortably the 2nd time

"Mayweather said he tore his left rotator cuff two days before the first fight and couldn't throw a jab or a left hook. He had surgery following the controversial decision over Castillo and he said his shoulder is completely healed now."

At face value, it probably favors Floyd.

Plenty of those guys would probably rate above Taylor, though none were on the same level at the time or on the night. Edwin Rosario mixed good skill with tremendous two-handed power; had split with Ramirez (losing in a war in which he dropped JLR twice), shook and forever altered Camacho (I thought he won), ruined Bramble, beat Howard Davis when he was still a top contender, an undefeated Frankie Randall, stopped future titlist Juan Nazario (the latter two both avenged after he'd fallen into drugs and alcohol) and was smart money to take Julio's - the SFW champ coming up to challenge - head off going in. Chavez completely took him apart and broke him down like nobody's business. Afterwards, he beat the only other fighter that had given Edwin a clear-cut loss to that point in Jose Luis Ramirez who even though was getting a bit long in the tooth, was still a top fighter of the time. I mention him because it was around this time that a Whitaker fight really would've been most desirable for Chavez as far as prime and at prime weight.

The win against Meldrick Taylor is the biggest win of Chavez's resume, and bigger than any of the wins on Mayweather's resume.

De La Hoya was finished when he fought Mayweather.

Not just swollen but fractured and concussed as well. It should be said though that his performance was in a lot of ways much more memorable than Whitaker's and against a much better version of Chavez. He went balls to the wall in every way imaginable and basically put his life on the line to win that damn fight. Nobody will ever forget it.

Chavez ranks higher than floyd by a fair bit & it shouldn`t really be up for serious debate, everything considered.

Ps. he beats his ass h2h at their best also.

chavez was a much more complete fighter and i would favor him over floyd at any weight below 147. he also has better wins against better fighters and therefore ranks higher all time.
