Rocky Kansas came to the USA at the age of 5.
Young Corbett III came to the US as an infant.
I'd consider them Americans, they grew up hear.

Is that all there are? Battling Siki was French. Vito Antuofermo, Sumbu Kalambay, and Primo Carnera were Italian. Are none of them hall of famers?

Johnny Dundee was born in Italy. Came to the US at about 5 years old. Became naturalized in 1919. So what should we consider him?

Hey, I'm just going by what the IBHOF says. Well, Wikipedia's version of it: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

France probably have the edge until the 1920s then the Italians dominate, particularly the Italian born American fighters.

France has had a bit of a renaissance in recent years, with migrants particularly from it's former Colonies in Africa, giving the sport in France a boost, whilst Italy has lost its top dog title in Continental Europe to Germany.

But fought for the French in the Great War, and was considered a French citizen, as were all citizens of the French Empire.

I was just being pedantic in line with most of the other comments. What about Johnny Famechon?

Yes, I agree but he was born in France. As it happens I just looked up Siki on Wiki and his remains were repatriated to his home town in Senegal in 1993.

The reason I was being pedantic in the first place is every time that there is a post about nationality we always get the same arguments.
