Stick to the facts here: Without Ali, what win does Frazier have to make him great? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. His entire legacy is based off going 1-2 with a completely dimished Ali.

Ali has other great wins on his resume

Foreman is the oldest legit HW champ in history.

Frazier's resume is the weakest of any HW considered great, period. He is 1-4 against ATGs, and has a collection of decent to bum fighters that fill out the rest of his record.

What's Ali's resume like without the Frazier fights?

Joe Frazier is even smaller than Chris Byrd and Eddie Chambers. His average prime weight was 205lbs, he had a reach of 73″ and was around 5'10"! At 215lbs he looked badly out of shape:

Ruslan is a slightly bigger man, although they have different body types, Chagaevs prime weight was around 225lbs and he has a slightly longer reach, Fraziers prime was 205lbs (what he weighed in the 1st Ali fight!)...

Even the 216lb, former CW Jean Marc Mormeck wore the weight well:

I know size is not the be all & end all, but with margin's like that they have to factor in surely! Especially consideing Joe unlike i.e 215lb Chris Byrd wasn't the slickest or most agile of fighters!

I am a frazier fan and he will be missed, He had the heart to keep fighting and never give up no matter what. I don't think he is overrated either but he is a fighter of his time.

What other wins does he have to be called a great? Jimmy Ellis and Jerry Quarry? Who considers them all time greats? He narrowly beat Bonavena, who knocked him down twice, who considers Bonavena a great?

He has absolutely NOTHING on his resume to justify being called an all time great.
Horribly diminished?

Just sit down, bro. No one here agrees with you. You can have your opinion. Most reasonable boxing experts and journalists would tell you that your opinion sucks.

Frazier was overrated? What a stupid thread. This guy is top 10 all time in division. Klitschkos... none is top 25.

He has arguably the single best win in heavyweight history! give it up son
