late 80's-90's heavyweights vs 60's-70's heavyweights
I always find it interesting to compare these two eras. IMO these were the best days for the heavyweight division. Both era's had great fighters such as Liston,Ali, Frazier, Holmes,Foreman etc in the 60's, 70's and early 80's and Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield etc. in the late 80's and 90's but what also made these times so exciting where the many other good exciting fighters guys like Quarry, Cooney, Tua, Rudduck, Morrison etc. It can be very difficult to judge the two eras and choose which fighters were actually better. I've come up with a bunch of match ups I'd like to here you're opinions on who you got in each fight and what would occur in the fight had it happened when both fighters were at there best.
Muhammad Ali vs Evander Holyfield
Lennox Lewis vs George Foreman
Mike Tyson vs Sonny Liston
Riddick Bowe vs Larry Holmes
Joe Frazier vs David Tua
Michael Moorer vs Ken Norton
Jerry Quarry vs Tommy Morrison
Razor Ruddock vs Ron Lyle
Earnie Shavers vs Ray Mercer
George Chuvalo vs Gerry Cooney

Re: late 80's-90's heavyweights vs 60's-70's heavyweights
Muhammad Ali vs Evander Holyfield-v/close points
Lennox Lewis vs George Foreman-Lewis by frightened KO
Mike Tyson vs Sonny ListonLATE ko-2morrow I'd pick Mike!
Riddick Bowe vs Larry Holmeseverytime
Joe Frazier vs David Tua Too much energy
Michael Moorer vs Ken Nortonagain more active
Jerry Quarry vs Tommy Morrison -If he boxes
Razor Ruddock vs Ron Lyle Razor if he boxed but he wouldn't
Earnie Shavers vs Ray Mercer-Mercer on stamina
George Chuvalo vs Gerry Cooney - Chuvalo narrow points.
Great match-ups BTW, they could all go the other way!!
