Default since it was the heat that made SRR lose

...and it wasn't joey maxium that made SRR lose, why wasn't a rematch ever made? Better yet a match of SRR vs the next lt heavy champ Archie Moore?
SRR wasn't shot in 1952 and he came back and in the next 6 years won 3 more world titles. Archie Moore had the Lt heavy title 5 or 6 of those years, so why no second try at Lt heavy for the sugarman during that period?

I think he realized that he bit off more than he could chew against Maxim.

I do believe it was the heat that caused his loss but I also think Robinson realized that conditions had to be near perfect to give up nearly twenty pounds and win.

Also, Moore was a whole different ballgame from Maxim.

Because Moore would have knocked him the fuck out.

If Maxium had been the one stopped and SRR had won that fight, we would have never heard a peep about how hot it was that night.

I think there would've been a footnote about the referee having to be substituted.

Conditioning's a part of the sport. So is pacing yourself. Robinson might beat Maxium 99/100 times. However this time he didn't and, It's likely one or both of these factors played a role in the result. Also coming in at 157 and a half was not the smartest choice either, but I take it as a sing that he had no plans to defend the 175 championship if he won it. Maxium was the better prepared boxer. He deserved the win.

Maxim, literally, stood in the center of the ring and ate shots from Robinson for 13 rounds. How he was awarded 3 rounds, is beyond me.

Of what I have of that fight, which obviously some rounds are missing (I forget which), but they must be the rounds that Maxim actually throws a punch. Because from what's survived on film -- Maxim didn't do shit.

If Maxim had dominated the fight and was heading to victory without taking any punishent then collapsed due to a heat storke we most certainly wouldve heard about it.

If Robinson wasnt outboxing and outpunching him so easily Maxim wouldve been given more credit.

Robinson had Moore and his wife round to dinner to try and broker a match, but Archie vetoed it because he said Ray wanted all the money.

Robinson was leading on all cards .
9-3-1, 10-3,7-3-3.

If he stayed on his feet for 2 more rounds he becomes a triple crown winner, but he expended too much energy out boxing the bigger man.

Jack Kearns talked a lot of bullshit about how it was planned for Maxim to come on late, all I can say is he left it a bit late.

Then we need to go back to the OP question.
It seems that the public and Team Robinson would be chomping at the bit to get maxim into the ring again ASAP.
