He seemed to have the ability to adapt to any style when he soundly beat the prototypical brawler in Mancini twice and also the best pure boxer in the division in Crawley. I think in the process of winning those fights he began to believe his own press, that his "coconut" head could withstand any punches and his toughness, strength and resolve could overcome any style.
Then of course, Rosario shows up and ruins everything for him, in the most emphatic style imaginable. The realization that the very foundation of his impending greatness had been neatly disassembled inside two rounds had to have been a bit of a shock. That, and he was matched tough right after that hard loss, which didn't help. |

exactly. Rosario exposed him as a stand up fighter who could be hit easily by a quick counterpuncher. Rosario destroyed him without any question. And the interview after Rosario basically said no way a guy that straight up could beat me . After that sort of fight Bramble never recovered psychologically, and to be honest people overrated his Mancini win.

It was sad watching Bramble turn into a total stepping stone in the 90's. Then again, at least he was still alive. Chapo passed in 97.

Bramble never really got his act together after getting waxed by Eddie Rosario in '86... However, I still claim Bramble was thumbed by Rosario in round 2 prior to the KO... Bramble ate a Rosario uppercut along the ropes with the thumb going into Bramble's eye, once Bramble wobbled, Rosario unloaded the kitchen sink before a partially blinded Bramble went down to pray to his gods.... See the KO for review.... Bramble out like a bulb on his knees in full prayer mode....... Bramble is a likeable guy and all, but his legacy would be better respected had he quit the ring fully by 1990....... L.B. hung on way too gottdamn long.......

I have always maintained that his hair was both his biggest strength, and his biggest weakness. It made him. It was his undoing. He gave it a chance. Then he couldn't keep it under control. By the time he took care of the situation it was far too late. The damage had been done.
