Default The Benefits of a Flexible Neck?

One of the causes of a knockout in boxing is when the neck gets rotated too far due to a punch. If a person were to have a very flexible neck would this enable him to be more resistant of getting knocked out? Suppose a boxer were to have a neck like the one shown in this video, how would this help him?

Your doing it wrong if you get in a position where somebody can punch you HARD enough to make your head snap around like that (Garcia Morales style)

The brain movement does you in - not neck movement.

More neck movement potentially means more brain movement = worse KO resistance

What about if you deflect the punch as it is hitting you on the jaw for example by twisting you own head?

Also when someone hits you on the jaw/chin area, the brain isn't impacted alot.

Roll with the punches?

Yes i'm sure Linares would love that ability (He turns his head to the side to 'absorb' punches)

Yeah that's where the logic of a "flexible" neck comes in, to assist in rolling with the punches.

Not in absorbing punches.

If you move your head with the punch then the impact is lessened rather than taking the full shot. Surely a flexible neck would help here.

Theres also a difference between a knockout when hit on the jaw and one on the temple. The jawline one happens when the neck is twisted too far not brain movement.

When a fighter gets hit on 'the button' tip of the jaw it's a nervous system reaction...

Only three ways I know of somebody getting KO'd:

Liver bodyshot
Head snap (brain hitting skull)
Hit on the button (Nerve endings)

Never heard about somebody's neck reaching a point which will physically make them go down. enlighten me.

going to bed expect no reply for now

A wrong statement. Jaw chin area is actually a KO point.

Depending on the direction of the punch rolling with it can be more dangerous.

Females have more compliant muscles and tendons so they are more flexible as well, research has shown that females are knocked out by relatively less force than males in contact sports because of that. The opposite of a flexible neck helps, you want a stiff strong neck that doesn't move. The longer your head is being moved around the more torque is generated and the stronger the reaction.
