Default Browne vs Towers 25 July Melbourne on Fox

Staying active which is great. Lucas will get a mid rounds stoppage here.

Good fight for Lucas Browne. He would have fought Richard Towers months ago if it wasn't for Towers getting the ear injury just prior to the bout. It will be 12 months since Towers has fought when they do meet and that could be a factor Browne's way.

Browne via brutal stoppage. Inactivity as well as a shaky performance against a guy who Browne would beat equals bad news for Towers.

Expect to see the other Hatton AP boys on the card - Hooper and Hammond.

I had hoped to see Murray vs Geale coupled with this fight in a proper Ashes PPV card but this is still good. I wonder if Hatton will bring over English opponents for Hooper and Hammond too ?

If he does KO Towers it will definately lift his profile in Britain and should propel him in the direction of a Commonwealth title fight with any luck.

Towers and Browne are both ****... close fight. Towers might even be more worse than Browne.

Neither is likely to beat both Klitschkos, that's a given. But fairly evenly matched fights usually provide the best action.

It will be a lot of action. But nothing for a hard core fan who likes to see good boxers with skill. I saw Towers against this french journeyman Towers only stayed on his feets because there was a ref who did everything do help him in that fight. Now Towers will be almost a year out... It will be an ugly ass fight just like Browne vs Toney.

Why do you think beating Towers wouldn't lift Browne's profile in Britain?

If Towers beats Browne it would increase Towers' profile over here. Why do you think it wouldn't work the other way around?

Mention the name Richard Towers to a UK fight fan and you might get a knowing nod -(might), mention him to the man on the street or casual boxing fan and they wouldn't have a clue.

Because nobody rates Towers in UK and europe at all. Towers is just not anything good. And an one year lay off wont help him also.

If people over there know Towers, they'll know Browne if he beats Towers. That's how recognition works.

Whether beating Towers has people over there rate Browne is a separate issue

I thought "lift profile" means to rate a fighter. Sorry
Also almost nobody knows Towers just hardcore boxing fans.
