Default daniel geale. another calzaghe. gary shaw.

he may be right.....

Quote:
"HBO has asked me about Daniel several times.
"Daniel's a great fighter. He's just under-rated.
"But sometimes in this game you're better off being under-rated, and let the other people and the other fighter not think anything, and then when you get in the ring it's a surprise.
"I will tell you this. This Daniel Geale is not the same Daniel Geale that fought Anthony Mundine the last time."
To make his point Shaw told about the time he took Jeff Lacy to Manchester to unify the super-middleweight belts against Joe Calzaghe.
"I didn't think it was a fight," Shaw said. "I thought I was going to leave after three rounds. But I got a shock. Calzaghe really did a beat down on my fighter.
"And that," Shaw said, "is how I think Daniel Geale is.
"He's another Calzaghe. After every time, after every fight, we walk away with the world championship."

very similar...
zero power, high workrate,
both protected champions with lack or resume.
If geale holds a belt for another 10 years, then why not consider him similar.

Lack of resume? Geale has gone into the backyard of 2 champions and came away with the win. More than your idol has ever accomplished

Not to mention your crush ducked 3 legitimate champions in 3 seperate weight divisions. Even when he was the mandatory he ran. That in it self tells the sad story of Anthony Mundines fading career.

sven ottke, zero power. anthony mundine got put in a coma by ottkes power.. it doesnt take much but a clean shot to ko mundine. hes just hard to hit clean. when he is hit, hes in trouble. in this fight, mundine is going to get outworked and have to rely on his chin as he will get hit more, being a faded, old fighter.

geale must have power. he wouldnt have won 2 titles without it. you must have some sting or you cant keep good fighters off you. obviously geale has the sting. certainly as much as sven ottke.

Providing a weak wave of talent is on the middleweight horizon and he is carefully managed, Geale could be the next Markus Beyer.

I hope not, there's some good fights to be made out there for Geale if he gets past Mundine. Pirog, Golovkin, Martinez and Quillan would all be good fights for him. The only way he doesn't face talented boxers and get tested is if Shaw keeps him away from them.
