jesus, that's horrible. While fans will always be frustrated at certain fighters for not seeing the fights they wanted, it's understandable why they would want to minimise risks and just get out of the game with their health intact. This is ****ed up. Kid had his whole life ahead of him.

Won't watch it Andy as would unsettle me, Saw it mentioned on FB earlier today. May god bless his soul and thoughts with his family.

Your spot on i cannot stand use of words towards fighters like bums, cans, cowards etc. No need for it at all, None!.

****ing awful.

As a small aside which is incidental to this event posted, I hate people talking on their phones ringside, or people who are ringside who are there for 'The Event', or people who boo men who have done three months training or most of their life to walk into a ring and be prepared to die. **** them all. Most of all RIP the young man that passed in the ring.

Hence the reason why I have respect for any boxer out there. You have to actually be in a gym sparring session to have any idea of how it feels and even then, the feeling in the pro's is magnified by 10x that.

I am not watching the video.

You have to wonder what damage has been done in training over a long period of time. All the bad advice boxers get starving their body of nutrients, living basically dehydrated all in aid to make a specific weight. Aswell as taking knocks to the head constantly in training, i honestly think sparring regularly is retarded.

Dehydration can make the brain swell, and affect its function, and in the long run cause brain damage.

Like i stated in another thread boxing is the hurt game, things like this can happen.

But i think allot of boxers are put under further damage due to the demands and retarded lifestyles that is forced upon them.

And in a fight situation, maybe sometimes the damage has already been done and all that is left waiting to happen! Is that push to tip them over the edge of the cliff.

Note: R.I.P, its a warrior's way of life, a forgotten way of life in this ever changing westernised modern world.

Excellent post Andy and almost a mirror image of my exact thoughts when I saw it on the General.
Some of these idiots who call boxers cowards(always a sign that they've never been further than the heavy bag) need to be made to watch this a la Clockwork Orange.

Poor guy. I didn't watch beyond the moment he was clearly in trouble - but what was with the other fighter keeping trying to go at the kid once the referee had pulled him away?

This is such a dangerous sport. The notion of ducking, etc is a pathetic thing that I wish we could **** out.

Almost everybody on this thread is being a hypocrite.

On plenty occasions people here in the British forums have called countless boxers bums & cowards.

Very very sad to see that. Kind of puts the premature stoppage argument into perspective. RIP

He was in control of that round until the stoppage. I'd need to watch the whole fight for the context, but it gets harder and harder to defend the sport.

These are the risks fighters take, there will never be a time when taking punches is 100% safe! Never! The risks the fighters take is the reason why people are compelled to watch such a dangerous sport.

Its a Warrior way of life, being forgotten in this ever changing civilised world.

RIP I thought he was winning easily until the last 30 seconds or so. The ref should've jumped in, when he was in the corner, with his hands up, he looked like he was in a really bad way, but the ref didn't stop the other guy battering him, for a while after that. I wonder if there was something wrong with him, before the fight, as he went from being grand to being in a really bad way, very fast. Dangerous sport.
