Default Your ideal end to the aging current fighters...

How would you want the end of certain careers to play out? In terms of who specifically they would fight.

Here are some of mine, I try to think of it as somewhat realistic as in that not every fight is in a dream world, assuming they stay victorious through to the last fight listed as do their opponents...

Miguel Cotto- '13 Bundrage/Smith winner, '14 Thurman, '14 Lara, retire
Rafael Marquez- '13 Mijares II, retire
Juan Manuel Marquez- '13 Jessie Vargas, '13 Pacquiao V, '14 Rios, retire
Manny Pacquiao- '13 Marquez V, '14 Bradley II, retire
Wladimir Klitschko- '13 Chagaev II, '13 Povetkin, '14 Pulev, '14 Fury, '15 Price, retire
Vitali Klitschko- '13 Haye, retire
Bernard Hopkins- '13 Cloud, retire
Floyd Mayweather- '13 Guerrero, '13 Alvarez, '14 Bradley, '15 Khan, retire
Sergio Martinez- '13 Murray, '13 Chavez Jr. II, '14 Golovkin, '15 Quillin, retire
Carl Froch- '13 Kessler II, '13 Bute II, '14 Ward II, retire
Mikkel Kessler- '13 Froch II, '13 Abraham, '14 Ward II, retire
Chris John- '13 Ryol Lee, '13 Dib, retire
Omar Narvaez- '13 Rodrigo Guerrero, '13 Juan Carlos Sanchez, retire
Steve Cunningham- '13 Travis Walker, '13 Jennings, '14 Huck II, retire
Paul Malignaggi- '13 Diego Chaves, '13 Cano II, '14 Danny Garcia, retire
Jermain Taylor- '13 Ishida, retire
Firat Arslan- '13 Brian Minto, '13 Huck II, retire

There are a lot of great fighters who are hopefully at the extreme tail end of their careers. I'm in favor of retiring early rather than late.

What are some fights you'd like to see and some legacies you'd like to see go down?

Yes to the top.

Because, for whatever reason, I'd value it more than Thompson II or Mormeck of last year. And as much as Solis would be. Trying to be somewhat realistic, as his talked about April date is likely not a top 10.

I really like the Froch/Groves and Paulie/Ortiz shouts. Cotto/Alvarez too would be great for Cotto, I do want to see that before all is said and done.

As for Taylor and Rafa, I agree that they should just retire without another fight. I guess I was just going with the thought of if they won't.

Aye, I'm gonna assume Froch beats Kessler in a rematch, and Froch is all wrong for Bute. After those wins, Froch - Groves could be a pretty big money maker in the UK, and Groves at that point would more than likely be in a position to be granted that bout, but ultimately, I see Froch being too much. Then, a Ward rematch at either 168 or 175lbs, in the UK preferably (mainly because I'd want to go see it). I see Ward winning clearly again to be honest, but it's a good way to go out for Froch, trying to avenge a loss, showing no fear type of bout. Sums up his career.

Malignaggi would lose to Ortiz IMO, this means the belt changes hands to someone who doesn't have a history of steering clear of people. Someone who's promoter will put him in against anyone since the Maidana loss.

Would like to see Cotto - Canelo, I'd give Cotto a fairly good chance at pulling the upset.

X 2 on all of that.

Another route for Froch if no Bute rematch theoretically is Cleverly at 175 to become a 2 weight champion. I don't see how Paulie would beat Ortiz, really.

Definitely, and if Ward does move up and pick a belt up at 175lbs before that, unification. Sounds good to me.

Manny: Marquez V (retire if he loses again), Bradley II, Mayweather 2015 (both retire regardless of the outcome)

Floyd: Canelo, Martinez, Manny.

RJJ: Just retire ASAP. Hate seeing Roy get KTFO by dudes he would have tooled in his prime.

Sergio: Murray, Chavez II, Floyd/Canelo

Good thread. But I think Solis makes more sense than 13 Chagaev II for Wlad.
