Surely this fight has to happen by the end of this year.
Khan has a point to prove, Matthysse has a point to prove, both want to be known as the best 140 pounder in the world. Will Lucas do what his compatriot couldn't? Can Khan beat Lucas Convincingly like no other fighter has? |

Although I'm British and would like to see Khan beat Lucas, it just would not happen. Matthysse would eventually land some clean shots and Khan would not be getting up. Khan could outbox him here and there, but it's impossible for any fighter to not get caught, most of all, Khan. Khan may have beat Maidana, but Matthysse is more technically efficient than Maidana has ever been.

Khan would box circles around him with the jab and right hand
Then Lucas would knock him out. To win this fight Khan would have to use all the speed he has and execute a perrrrfect fight to win a decision - effectivly the best fight of his life. |

I'm so ****ing tired of hearing how Khan will "box circles" around this one or that one. Did he box circles around Lamont Peterson? No. Did he box circles around Marcos Maindana from Rd 7 on? No. Khan has size and brilliant handspeed. He is not..... and I'll say it for the nine-hundredth time.... some master boxer. Moreover, he's not especially difficult to hit. Lucas figures him out and stops him inside the distance. ![]() ps And before you assholes start saying I'm jumping on the bandwagon after the Matthyssee-Dallas fight, wrong-- I didn't see the KO and I have been predicting that Lucas would stop Khan for MONTHS. |

The fact Khan himself mentioned how Judah beat Lucas shows that if he went into that fight with the mentality "hey Judah beat him - why can't i?" then he would certaintly get brutally KO'd.

Lucas, whilst behind on points, would stop him around 7-8'ish.
Only way Khan beats him is if he learns how to survive close range. He can't maintain boxing and moving constantly for the whole duration of the fight. It's next to impossible and he'll drain himself of energy (like he did against Peterson and Maidana). Lucas will be in his face all night and will drag him into the trenches. Khan, during those moments, just needs to learn how to survive and not sustain too much punishment. |
