Isn't Matthysse the mandatory challenger for the WBC? Shouldn't he be next for Garcia anyway?

Anyway sure make the fight happen whilst they wait for Judah and Garcia winner.

I don't know about that Bronx. Mayfield really had to work in his last fight against Mauricio Herrera. Herrera doesn't have the power Lucas has or the ability to put punches together.

Lucas has power in both hand and hurts his opponents to the body or head. He is a fighter with very good timing, this is how he is able to neutralize opponents with faster hands.

Herrera went 10 rounds with Mike Dallas, I know we can't use that A+B=C logic in this sport. But Lucas has fought way better opposition than Mayfield, and even when he's lost it's been by controversial SD where his opponents where dropped.

I'll take Lucas in a matchup vs Mayfield.

I don't really see this fight happening. Mayfield isn't on the same level as Lucas and at this stage in Lucas' career, he needs bigger name opponents.

i like Mayfield and hope he succeeds but i don't he can do anything with matthysse. but he's getting up there in age so he might as well go for it.

I've seen him fight and I don't think he can last past 5 with Lucas.

i agree mayfield isnt on the same level . but lucas had a fight lined up with lundy which is a mismatch. then he dropped out so he fought even weaker fighter in mike dallas. an mayfield deff an upgrade from dallas. and possibly an upgradef from lundy. but lundy/mayfield would actually be a good fight . i would want lundy to get a win at 140 then thats a good fight to make
