Default What would Donaire fear from Mares?

With all these talks about Donaire ducking Mares, I have to ask, why would he? Mares stands no chance against him, neither his style, nor his own physical talent... Donaire is the superior fighter all around and would most likely knock Mares out if not dominate him to a UD

So why would he be "ducking" Mares? Rigo I could see, but Mares?

I'm a Donaire fan, but I can see where he'd fear Rigo's boxing skill and athleticism...

Mares on the other hand?

And if he fights Mares, that kid might be his last.

idk why he would duck, but look at his actions in the past week. Nobody is saying he should fear Mares, but his team is acting like it

The only thing Donaire has to be worried about is being Agbeko'd.

IB, what's your prediction on this match up?
Donaire 118-110/117-111/117-111

It is Mares that ducked. You are falling for the cover up story by GBP. Excellent, they have done their job well.

"We offered a reasonable amount to them to fight, and I'm not going to negotiate in the media, but we offered them a reasonable amount to fight Mares on HBO on April 13, and they rejected that," said Arum.

"We're happy to do it. We're happy to pay Mares and Golden Boy enough to where he's going to get double what he's ever gotten before in a fight. If they want to make a fight, they negotiate on what I will pay them, because the fight has to be on HBO."

Schaefer said $1 million was a "low-ball" offer.
