Default Soliman vs. Sturm on Feb 2

Lets hope Sam can do it
Quote:
IBF #1 Sam Soliman will travel to Germany to clash with former WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm on Feb 2nd for the right to challenge the winner of the Daniel Geale vs. Anthony Mundine fight on January 30 in Sydney, Australia. The IBF have told both Geale and Mundine they must defend against the #1 contender. The IBF have allowed Geale to defend against Mundine, who defeated him via disputed split decision three years ago, instead of IBF #1 Soliman. “The stakes are incredibly high as is the challenge,” said Soliman. “I am going to Germany on a mission, to beat Sturm. I have no control over what happens in the Mundine and Geale fight.” Soliman and Sturm have boxed a common opponent in Giovanni Lorenzo, whom they both defeated over twelve rounds. Soliman did it in 2012. Sturm won in 2010.

Soliman is a ****wit I would rather see him lose.
Geale v Sturm 2 or even Mundine v Sturm is a better fight than seeing Geale v Soliman or Mundine Soliman 4.

Doesn't sturm have the number 1 position at WBA. That would be at stake for soliman aswell not just ibf.

If the fight wasn't in Germany Soliman would have a great chance of beating sturm, his work rate is higher than geales and that's what won geale the WBA title. Hopefully the neutral judges will stay neutral. If Sammy can avoid getting knocked out I think his style will comfortably get him over the line.

I can't see Sam taking out even this faded version of Felix, but he'll give it his best.

Soliman must have got good coin for the Sturm fight.

I just can't think of any other reason as to why he would take on Sturm in Germany when he had the IBF mandatory position locked after all he has wanted has been a title shot at a recognised middleweight title.

If he beats Sturm, it would be a massive win given the risk he has taken.
