Good fighter Adil, poor fight this. He looked good in his last fight in the eliminator.

Maloney strikes again with his poor matchmaking.

Just to clear this up. Anwar should be fighting for the British title this time round but instead he's got to wait for the Hamilton - Williams winner.
If that fight would've gone ahead as planned on the Price - Skelton bill then Anwar would be fighting the winner on the Price - Thompson undercard.
He's just chose to take a keep busy fight in McDonagh & get another 12 rounder under his belt

the lad won 2 eliminators to the british title beating the man who ko'd woodhouse,
he went up to welterweight and won an english title against finn dropping finn multiple times and stopping him, he's being sidelined. I'v met the guy in leeds so many times, he's one of the most down to earth ppl you'll meet in the game.

I thought masters title fights were 10 rounders not 12.. Good to keep him active why he waits his deserved shot and mcdonough will give him some good rounds.

Recent Article, look like Opponents been changed too, scandalous how they are ****ing him about..

Despite having won a pair of British title eliminators in his previous two fights, a shot at the prestigious Lonsdale belt has yet to surface for Adil Anwar. The former Prizefighter winner believes this is down to his peers avoiding him.

In an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, the 25-year old from Leeds said: “Domestically, it seems I am one of the most avoided fighters. I think there’s some boxers out there who are avoiding me.”

The ‘Platinum Kid’ will be featuring on the undercard of David Price-Tony Thompson on February 23 at the Echo Arena, Liverpool. On the same bill, local man Steve Williams will get the chance Anwar was hoping for when he challenges Darren Hamilton, the British light welterweight champion.

In contrast, Anwar will be facing six fight novice Lance Sheehan for the lightly regarded ‘Gold’ version of the British Masters title at 140lbs. Anwar, however, is not letting the situation bring him down.

“I have patiently been waiting for a shot at the British title and have proved that I’m capable of it time after time, yet I’m not getting the shot. Still, I will wait patiently as good things come to those who wait,” stated Anwar.

He isn't mandatory, Steve Williams is, thats why he hasn't had a shot yet, because the Hamilton-Williams fight has been put back twice.

He fought on the same bill when Hamilton won it against Theophane, Adil's fight was the eliminator then i believe, doesn't matter anyway, he would destroy both Williams and Hamilton on the same night, it's only a matter of time.

He isn't fighting McDonough now, he is fighting Lance Sheehan who recently got beat by Tony Pace.

McDonough is tough, Anwar is going to have to work for this. Good TV exposure too.
