Round 8

Kentikian is still committing to heavy pressure, but Jah has found her long right hand counter again and snaps Kentikian's head back with it. The jab is back as well. Kentikian can't get inside anymore. Jah is countering or grabbing effectively every time she rushes. Kentikian circles and rolls her arms at her sides. Long telegraphed overhand right by Kentikian, and she is popped with a short jab and turned aside. Jah clinches and sidesteps after Nelson breaks them. Big combos flaring up from Kentikian as she steps in, but Jah is waiting and blocking. Overhand right by Kentikian, but a counter jab and cross come back at her.

10-9 Jah, showing heart to come back and take one.

78-73 Kentikian

Jah needs at least a knockdown, if the scoring is fair. (and it's unlikely Kentikian would get screwed at home)

Kentikian is so much out of breath when trying to talk that sounds erotic.

Always wondered...

What happens with an interim or vacant title on the line if there's a draw?

Mandatory rematch?

It isn't like either retains.

Round 9

Kentikian is getting caught at the end of Jah's jab, trying to drop her head to either side but still findable. Big long punches by Kentikian, not quite getting past Jah's stick. Kentikian down, ruled a slip by Mark Nelson. Big right hand by Kentikian, hurting Jah. She chases her to a corner and blasts away on her but Jah is able to stay covered up.

10-9 Kentikian, but close. If she hadn't hurt Jah...

88-83 Kentikian

Round 10

Kentikian is jumping in and doubling a jab, thrusting it hard and following through to compensate for her shorter reach. Jah is trying to hold her out with the jab and single right hand leads. Mark Nelson pauses the action to check on Kentikian's cut, which is nasty. Cleared. Time in. BIG chopping right to the face by Jah, possibly targeting the gash. Kentikian tries to put some overhands together but Jah is stepping in to meet her, smothering and tying up.

10-9 Jah

97-92 Kentikian

Jah bows to the audience, turning to all four corners.

I don't think she is acting like she earned it, more that she is proud of her performance and durability.

This was actually the best fight of the undercard.

(although we haven't seen Dobroschi vs. Mock yet...)
