Well HEH no shit, no disrespect but man, I mean.. yeah of course. UNLESS Mayweather gets knocked out cold in May or loses badly against Guerrero which is HIGHLY unlikely.

anyone who beats floyd will become automatically the #2 boxer when it comes to popularity in the sport...i mean lets be honest here when u hear the name floyd mayweather u know he is unbeaten and whoever beats him the amount of attention drawn to that fighter would be unreal mate |

No way in hell Mayweather and Canelo fight this year, not with Floyd having a 6 fight commitment to meet with Showtime/CBS. They're gonna let that one "marinate" for a while.
But to answer your question, yes Alvarez will be the next crossover star. He needs to learn English and make some late night American TV appearances, but they're setting him up to be the next big thing. Are we entering the Broner/Alvarez age (the new Mayweather/Pacquiao)? Maybe. |
