Mayweather just signed a 6 fight deal with showtime, the first opponent is guerrero
Who do you think will be the other 5 opponents? I think he will definately fight Canelo, and Khan before retiring, Big money To all the people saying he won't fight 6 times, the only reasons I said was because on the main page of boxingnews24 there is an article saying "Mayweather signs six-fight deal with Showtime" Last edited by eviltaker10; 02-19-2013 at 08:21 PM. |

The six fight deal does nothing but guarantee Showtime that he doesn't jump ship back to HBO.
Floyd retires before the end of this deal. |

He'd be insane to fight 6 more fights. Currently he only fights about once a year so no way he fights for another 6 years approx. If he were to fight twice a year, I think he wouldn't be to old, BUT even fighting 6 opponents the caliber of Guerrero... He definitely is asking to lose. Also not a whole lot of potential opponents outside of the more dangerous fights (guys like Pac, Martinez, Canelo or Trout) except Bradley comes to mind. He's going to seriously get hurt before retiring after 6 fights.

I've repeatedly said that I think Floyd will fight at 40, maybe beyond. He has all the classic traits.
1. Huge ego that needs attention to be satisfied. 2. Lifestyle that needs large influxes of revenue. 3. Documented IRS settlements during his peak earning years. As far as his fights, he'll select them carefully. He always does. |
