Just to go off topic a bit but didnt seem worth starting a new thread - Boxrec are listing Isaac Hlatswayo as Hattons next opponant on 24th may, anyone know if this is true or not?

Yer any Titlist at 140 would do - should stay away from 147 imo. If Juan Diaz didnt already have a fight lined up.....

You know what you are probably 100% correct. For a fighter with his reputation he was not prepared to face anything like PBF when he did. He and his team even thought PBF could not punch hard not realising that PBF was actually the better puncher. It is very important that on the way up you face different types of styles.

No question about that.Hatton faced a handful of domestic southpaws and struggled badly but he won. Other than that all he faced were feather fisted club fighters. He never faced any box puncher or punchers for that matter and when he was mandatory for the WBO and EBU he declined the fights.

Collazo is a southpaw but he is not what I would call a tricky or particularly skilful one otherwise he would have stopped Hatton.

I am not particularly fond of Junior Witter and believe it or not I would prefer it if Hatton beat him in contest. However my boxing brain has always told me that Witter would stop Hatton. As for Ajose Olusegun he would have to much for Collazo.

Also before people think I dislike Hatton which actually I don't he is another example of a fighter's popularity making people see him objectively. Prior to the fight with PBF people were crediting him with skills he did not possess. Hatton might be many things but one thing he clearly is not and will never be is the next coming of Roberto Duran. Hatton does not have the same skills-set. To be frank it will be interesting to see if he recover from the beating PBF gave him.

I was saying this more than 5 years ago. No one wanted to believe me back then. Hindsight is a great tool for the young fan boys on this forum who more than likely have only seen Hatton fight recently.

There you go again. I am not saying Collazo is rubbish but he is far from the most skilled or quickest southpaw. I actually had Collazo winning the fight.

The only people who think Collazo is slick are Hatton fans.

He wasn't so slick against a past peak Mosely (someone who could box) who spent all of his best years at lightweight.

Witter would beat Collazo but I had Collazo beating Hatton 7-5 minus the KD

The whole hatton's prime is BS - hes in his prime now he just lost and hasn't got the time to get away with mistakes at the top level and hasnt got the defense at the top level either.

your comment was no opponent in hatton's career had one iota of what floyd had.

i disagree.

obviously u can't replicate a tremendous boxer like floyd.

but collazo does have some traits in his style.

namely the fast hands.
