we'd have 4 guys again, trading belts every few months, claiming to be the man at HW and avoiding unification.....the good ole days

why?

would you retire if you had 3 out of the 4 world titles + Ring Title, making millions every fight, and completely dominating and toying with your opponents?

but your right, when Wald retires, the division will be more competetive

Maybe Joe Louis should have retired 10 years earlier? Division would have been more competitive

He should go for 64-65 wins. So, 5 or 6 more fight in my opinion. Or if he wanted to retire now, but I see no reason he wouldn't dominate for several more years.

IMO, he will probably fight till next year, at least. 6 more fights seem realistic.

After that he may retire or go into Vitali's mode, fighting a few more mismatches just for the money in it.

If he only intends on fighting unranked nobody's for the rest of his career, Yes.

He is superior to everyone in the division by a comfortable margin, why should he retire? He can still make loads of money and improve his legacy

From my point of view, if he's willing to take on the best available contenders there's no reason for him to retire.

If he's gonna sit on his belts and fight the Wach's of the world then he isn't doing his legacy and favours. 20 defences only means something if it's 20 worthwhile challengers. To date not all of those have been worthwhile.

Austin was mandatory so I can live with that but Wach has never been ranked by anyone ever and he was a voluntary, that helps his legacy not one jot. Atleast JMM was a former unified undisputed champion so I can live with that.

He needs to clean out the next crop of up and coming Heavyweights.

His curent reign is good for only one thing... Longevity.

The next crop will provide him the the level of competition his legacy craves.

Once he fights them, we'll know where he truly stands
