Default Jermain Taylor?

Anyone heard anything about his next fight? I heard he was meant to fight Quillin which would have been suicidal for his career but luckily its not happening. At his age he cant afford to sit around after fighting 3 **** people, im sure he could still beat people like Vera, Lee or Dzinzuruk. Anyone know anything?

I miss that dude. He was underappreciated so badly. He was great for boxing, a true warrior. Had he been just 1% better, he could have been a great great great fighter IMO. He was just missing a little bit of "something" I can't put my finger on it.

Stamina!
his jab is underrated too, i remember when Froch tried to charge him then he threw like 3 jabs in Froch's face whilst retreating and the last one was a hard one, never seen someone get power on it whilst going back
he could still school a few people

Yes, stamina. Why it took him and his team so long to realize that he was a six round fighter. Zab was the same way. These guys had a lot of talent, but were so lacking on conditioning - it killed their careers.

I don't think Taylor could beat Vera or Lee honestly at this point, that chin of his is AWFUL. He doesn't just get knocked out, when he gets nailed he folds up and collapses like a card table. He oughta change his nickname from "Bad Intentions" to "Faces of Death" because that's exactly where he's headed.

I've been hoping he quietly retired.

JT was always too frenetic in the ring to ever consistently possess great stamina. It's the main thing Emmanuel Stewart tried to help him with, but even he was unsuccessful.

Conditioning was never the problem.

taylor should retire. he's going to get hurt. he's one of my favorite fighters, always has been, and i can't stand the idea of him continuing.

the dude had problems and still does with...whatever you want to call it...nervous energy, anxiety...had a stuttering problem for a long time. he swats at an imaginary bug on his face all fight. he just can't settle down. no amount of conditioning is going to help if you just can't settle yourself down and you shoot your load. he's also asthmatic if i recall.

he should just hang'em up and be proud that he was the legit king of one of boxing's banner divisions. not bad, really.

His jab was easily among the best in boxing.

I still don't think Quillin was as awful a match-up for Taylor as most did. Obviously anyone with power is bad news for him at this point, but I thought Quillin's low output and the amount of jabs he eats would have allowed Jermain to have a fair bit of success against him.

He was a good boxer back in the day, talented both as a boxer and an athlete. His inability to finish fights became a problem for him.
