What is 'Ringside'?

I'm looking at getting ringside tickets for the Froch v Kessler rematch. I'm just wondering from other people experiences what is actually classed as a ringside ticket? How many tickets are normally issued as ringside? And how far back could I actually be? Don't want to pay £500 to be disappointed!

I ordered "ringside" Ricky Hatton tickets at £300 and they were not actual ringside, about the same distance I sat at Froch vs Bute only cost £160 so I'm also wondering where £500 will get me this time around.

Normally VIP package holders get ringside but £500 tickets should be real ringside IMO

Can't you just ask the company that sells the tickets actually ?

500 is serious money already so you better be sure.

I've seen it applied to several rows of floor seats before. I prefer raised seating, some of the smaller venues I've been to have only had floor seating and it hurts my neck after a couple of hours looking up, plus you've got bellends standing up in front of view to deal with.

It's not that bad.

Of course the true ringside seats are for judges. You'll probably be maybe give or take 5 meters away from the ring.

Still enough to get some flying sweat on you.

Best tickets i feel are allways the ones a little further back. Being too close for me has had its drawbacks. Best views and all round experience IMHO would be in the area where the seating just starts to go up. If your near Frochs lady she'd just annoy you. Anyhow lots of idiots go to watch fights and many idiots have hot birds with them so you'll " plenty" !

True ringside is press row, S, and can extend 14-15 rows back, 'specially if it's a big championship fight.

It varies from stadium to stadium. You really need to check with the event organisers.
In Ireland whenever I have purchased ringside tickets I normally get to view a map of the arena courtesy of ticketmaster. That way you can clearly see in advance what area of the seat map is designated as "Ringside".
