He has a terrific pedigree at a higher weight, looks comfortable at the current weight, and just gave the dominant champion a very competitive fight. It would be wrong to have him at the ass end of the top 10, or to treat him like he's a 0-1 fighter. He's proven to be able to compete at the top level - the guys below him, not so much.

True, but he hasn't actually done anything outside of a single competitive loss at FW. He could still be plausibly ranked at LW, and his P4P standing is still solid, but he hasn't actually accomplished anything at FW. I certainly don't think the guys below him are better fighters, but they've done more at 145 to prove where they belong on the list

You can't rank him at LW if he's not a LW. And you can't have him appear in p4p lists, but not in divisional rankings.

He'd be favoured to beat all of the guys guys below him, and he's achieved more than any of them. If he performed terribly in his first fight in the weightclass then there would be a problem, but he didn't. He performed as well as anybody has against Aldo.

So the next challenger for the LHW title isn't ranked in any weight class, anywhere at all? Why have 'Official Rankings' when it seems you can call someone out on Twitter and walk right into a title shot in a new division?

True he's not ranked, but that's purely because he's confirmed to have left one division and has yet to appear in another.

I wouldn't have given Sonnen the shot. But it seems he got it based on his willingness to fight Jones on basically no notice at all when nobody else would go near the fight, coupled with his ability to sell the fight. Without the Jones-Hendo fuckaround, I doubt Sonnen walks into a title shot. But he was the only man who was willing to step up and get his ass kicked on a week's notice so that the show could go on, and the UFC has a history of rewarding guys who are willing to go the extra mile for the company.

I could nitpick here and there, but I don't have a problem with those rankings.

Most people probably could nitpick about some rankings and some rank their fighter higher than others because of favoritism and other things but as you said dont think there are any problems with them

Pretty good. Lil' Nog is rated too low though, that win over Rashad is actually quite big.
