If Selby is top class Lindsay doesn't get out of the 11th. Looks good domestically but you can see why he ducked out of the European challenge when he was mandatory, this guy will get poleazed at a higher level with someone with just half decent dig

He's a talent that boyo, A real rough diamond but showing signs of real class.
Selby's outboxed a talented boxer and did it with ease.. |

I've been waiting for a few years for one of the trio of Smith, Lindsay or Simpson to clean out the British Featherweight scene but Selby's done it now and that's to be applauded. He's clearly a very good fighter; he's a bit awkward, has good power and decent variation. But he's not as good as the Sky commentators want to make him out to be. He can get caught, and caught flush, whilst at times his work looks a bit off balance and lazy. He's clearly got a big advantage with being so big at the weight which can paper over his flaws but for me, European level is his plateau. Featherweight may not be the strongest division around but I don't see Selby picking up a World belt.
Personality wise, I don't like the look of him either to be honest. The showboating is unnecessary and doesn't put him across in a good light, especially when it comes across as disrespecting good pros like Lindsay. |
