i think Storey was there for the first part of the career as shane is a new trainer.
He seems good. I like the fact that he is a 360 trainer, in that he is a boxing trainer, conditioner and nutritionist. don't think theres many other trainers that do all 3, and have the knowledge Shane has when it comes to the science side. |

Could be a massive gamble. Shane McGuigan is young and very inexperienced. Seems a clever lad and he and Carl have chemistry but will be able to do what's needed if Frampton finds himself in a VERY sticky situation in a fight? Someone on another thread raised that point and it's a very good one. I don't know of any other trainers McGuigan has trained other than Flintoff for his "fight".

True but not everyone is an Adam Booth. Some young coaches are handed talented fighters and fuck it up. Anthony Farnell when he was training Tony Bellew is one example that sticks out in my mind. Although Bellew never lost under him his style became erratic and at times clumsy, he and Farnell just didn't gel together at all.

Booth for example has it with Haye & Groves but doesn't appear to have it with others. For me it looks like Frampton has it with Shane McGuigan. |

If your good enough your old enough, Shane's been around the game for a long time and he's got his dad there for advice as well as learning from Gerry. I think he's done well with Frampton thus far.
I think he's got a way to go before seeing how good he really is but he's started off well enough. |

seems decent.
I mean obviously he is an asset from the nutritional and conditioning point of view. As far as boxing tactics, training and nouse, he seems to be doing well so far. |
