Default Strongest year ever

Don't know if it has been done before. Upon a lazy research, I haven't found anything.

In your opinion, what is the strongest year we've ever seen if you put all the champions next to one another simulteanously ? As if it was a team ?

Example : 1927

Tunney
Loughran
Walker
Dundee
Mandell
Morgan
Bass
Taylor
Schwartz

If the title is vacant, you may use the no. 1 contender of The Ring rankings. In the years where there are (many) more weight classes, it may be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on the quality of the champs. A weaker champion/top contender weakens the whole team.

'47 is looking damned good.

Joe Louis
Gus Lesnevich (even though Charles and Moore were top contenders and never got the shot )
Rocky Graziano
Ray Robinson
Ike Williams
Willie Pep
Manuel Ortiz
Jackie Peterson

Pretty ridiculous year

some big names

Graziano is a bit of a weak link though, and I'll have to check Peterson

Lesnevich not one of the best 175 pounders either, but the rest is top notch

1923:

Fly: Jimmy Wilde
Bantam: Joe Lynch
Feather: Johnny Kilbane
Light: Benny Leonard
Welter: Mickey Walker
Middle: Harry Greb
Lt. Heavy: Mike McTigue
Heavyweight: Jack Dempsey

McTigue's a weak link, but the rest are gold, with Lynch admittedly rating a level behind the others, while still being a very good fighter.

2013 -
Heavyweight - Vacant - not unified
Light Heavy - Vacant - not unified
Middleweight - Vacant - not unified
Welterweight - Vacant - not unified
Lightweight - Vacant - not unified
Featherweight - Vacant - not unified
Bantamweight - Vacant - not unified
Flyweight - Vacant - not unified

Not a single unified champion. Quite depressing really.

This is quite likley the year with the greatest number of active profesional boxers in North America.

While McTigure is indeed a weak link, he was clearly not the best light heavyweight in the world at the time.
