Im sure a certain amount went to touts but plenty of people on here got them as well. I don't think you can ever stop touts buying them.

I think more tickets than people imagine probably went to touts, any main venue with a guaranteed sell out event always attracts their attention and I bet there'll be a lot of them outside too. It would be nice if matchroom recalled or cancelled the tickets being resold online as theyre clearly for profit purposes and haven't been bought by fans. Don't expect it to happen but it's unfair that fans get ripped off for tickets because some unscrupulous people want to buy them all up and then fix their resale value.

I still don't understand how these touts wind up with so many tickets.
I can't imagine Matchroom sit down and go... 10% to family and friends of both fighters 20% for Saureland 20% for sponsors 30% for the fans 20% for no good leaching filthy cunting touts... Those splits are totally random..

I missed out on the tickets through the day, but I went back on about 9/10ish and grabbed 2 £80 seats.. I think people open up multiple pages and keep searching until they land tickets. I even managed to turn down a £60 ticket because I wanted 2 together. |

No way did most of the tickets go to fans, corporates probably got a fair few then many to touts.
Tickets didn't sell anywhere nearly as quick for the Bute fight and the tickets were much cheaper, it was also in Carls hometown meaning more people would want to go. |

If the authorities wanted to stop ticket touting they could, simply by bringing in a system where the tickets have the purchasers name printed on them and I.D has to be shown alongside the ticket when entering the arena.
You don't have I.D that matches your ticket, you don't get in. Will stop the greedy leeching, filthy touts ripping people off Of course, if they do this already and I just haven't realised then ignore my post :P |

I thought some of the online sites that resell tickets were actually run by ticketmaster etc? I am sure there was a concert recently where a large portion of the tickets went directly onto one of their 'resale' sites to maximise the money they make.

In my experience, Promoters set aside reasonably large chunks of tickets for organisations that resale tickets.
The tickets are hugely marked up, the promoter makes 3/4 times the origional price and the resale site gets booking fee and maybe a small percentage. Absolute scam. |

It would be very very interesting to see if someone could offer some hard evidence that this is what has happened in the case of this event. I'm one of those that missed out and I'm not paying some silly money prices to touts or resale agents as a matter of principle, the money doesn't even bother me I just fundamentally disagree with the practise.
Would not be happy to hear "Newage Eddie" had gone a little too new age and lumped a load of tickets off to some resale sites so we can all get our pants pulled down on ticket costs. I doubt he has done this but if he has it should be clarified! |

I know a bloke who bought tickets on eBay for Beyonce at the Nottingham arena, think he paid £200 for two tickets, got to the arena, they'd seen the tickets on eBay and because he'd paid above face value refused to let him in, but said there are tickets available still so he ended up paying another £120 for tickets on the night!
