The next step for Selby should be finding a good promoter who can take him to the top. He has very impressive skills and even though he's cocky, I think people will like him. He needs to be marketed well and put on the top of bills in Wales, where he can make more of a name for himself. Hopefully Hearn signs him and gives him the exposure he needs at this point.
I don't think there's anyone at European level who can bother Selby too much, really, so I think he'll pick that strap up fairly easily. It won't be long until he's pushing onto the world stage and I think fighting at a higher level will suit him. For me, Selby and Russell Jr. are the stand out prospects at featherweight. Selby is more talented than Javier Fortuna, who had made a bit of a name for himself recently. I like Selby a lot and obviously I think he's going places. The focus now should be on finding a promoter who will manage his career properly. Get him title shots, build his name and basically come up with a plan of how to take him to the top. |

thought he showed he was an arrogant prick showboating in the 12th after lindsay had showed so much courage to keep himself in the fight. But,i think he will be a superstar.Lindsay was very sharp ,fit and focussed for the fight and was going well until hurt at end of 2nd round.selby is massive at the weight and martin ,even with his huge balls, couldnt get to him.personally i rate lindsay at euro level;i think he was in top shape against selby;so therefore SELBY was very impressive last night

I found him uniquely dislikeable, actually. Just another moderately talented guy with a brash attitude and no depth. He should have been taking Lindsay out and that show of disrespect in the last round... total bell-end.

Think Hearn will take him on and put him on semi-big Welsh cards with Rees after Broner. I think Rees will lose to Broner but he'll do well and carry on afterwards for sure.
Selby looked good, yeah he got hit but so fucking what, he was never bothered and didn;t give a fuck about being hit. He would not have acted like that if he was fighting a power puncher, the fight he fought the way he did showed he is way above Brit level. Nobody has mentioned the dropping of Gamboa in sparring and the Dre's? This kid is the truth. |

Was a really good performance he looked massive on the night boxed well took to many punches tho. I was surprised with the ease he beat lindsay whos a top fighter. Can see him fighinging samir next who won a eliminator and beat selby but fancy lee to win the rematch. And their is no truth in the rumour of him dropping gamboa in sparring. They never sparred.
