I don't know in exactly which tier he would be in, but maybe Gilberto Roman?

My bad, was thinking about Nunn

Here are some more names from the more recent times (sorry Classic!)

Tapia, Mosley, Ricardo Lopez , Tszyu...nice seeing Pedroza in there.

Wonjongkam? No chance.

Where is Ernesto Marcel? Pedroza was a paper champ his defences counter zilch until Sal' dies.

Why not? Too short a spell as linear? That is an enormous number of defences of his straps, and he was #1 in that division for a huge amount of time.

I love me some Blonde Terror of Terre Haute! I made a thread on him not to long ago -- no one contributed.

Wonjongkams opposition was generally pretty woeful. Yeah, longevity wise he was great and he was lineal champ' and he was impressive blasting suckers in the early going (Tunacao is still f'n ranked now) as well as deserving credit for winning back lineal title when his reflexes were gone and he was struggling to make weight.

But in terms of flyweight opposition beaten, I would not feel cofortabke having him near the top end of the pantheon of midgets.

Marcel? Depends how you see Shibata fight IMO. But for me, better on film and better scalps than Pedroza, if not as many. Finished on top; either you see that as a cop out or an achievement, I dunno'.

For me he's just flat out better. And it's not like I ain't a Pedroza fan either

Sorry! If I'd seen it I'd have said so.

McGrain is right; there's little between 'em, both have different pro's and cons though and as I now have two days off of work I have the time to make it look pretty
