I think Benn will be the more popular pick, but I will take Minter.

Going to plunge for Benn...

He had a longer career at the top, and was a bigger icon in the UK. But as mentioned it almost is a coin flip as Minter had arguable more top names on the resume, and unlike Benn, 'Boom Boom' was a generally recognized World Champion, not 'just' an 'alphabet' title holder.

Resume wise hard to compare in some ways, alphabet titlists who were never the best in the world or Euro/National champions, when those champions were actually the best in their country/continent

I think Benn's best wins and draws are better with McClellan, Eubank, Barkley, then you have top European fighters like Galvano, Nardiello, Piper, Wharton. I didn't think he beat Malinga. Watson beat him solidly ofcourse, he never faced Graham or Kalambay, let alone the top top Americans, bar McClellan.

Minter has Antuofermo, Finegan, Tonna and old Griffith, I'm no expert in the 70s British and Euro scene to judge it, but it doesn't seem nearly as good.

Were they though? I'm not an expert on the era so I'd be interested to hear a justification

Easy one, Benn lost to Minter 3 times. Minter.
